Listening Examinations - period 4, 6 - June 8; period 7-June 9 Composition Writing- period 4,6- June 10; period 7- June 11. Scan Tron-reading, grammar, and culture examination - period 4, 6 - June 14; period 7-June 15 Semester Examination begins this week!Each student will present his/her oral examination and complete the listening and composition portions of the exam. The schedule for the orals has been published in class. Please follow all guidelines and suggestions to help you succeed.
Your year average is calculated in the following manner: % of third quarter +% of fourth quarter + semester examination. Each quarter is 40% and the exam is 20%. The average of the first semester and the second semester yield the yearly grade. You will receive by week's end the averages of the 1st semester and of the 4th quarter. Madame R Oral Examination PreparationEach student has chosen a partner, date and time for the presentation of the oral examination. Please begin to prepare the rough draft of your script this weekend (May 28th), thinking about the 6 articles / accessories that your are going to wear. Think of the detailed description as was explained in class. Together you will build your scripts with your partner next week. Additional vocabulary will be given to you to offer originality and uniqueness to your product. Examination schedule and Oral examination sign-up.Our semester examination will be from June 7 to June 15. Each student will work with a partner to prepare the oral examination and choose a time-slot to present. A letter will be sent to parents on Monday, May 24 and Tuesday , May 25. This will explain the parts of the examination, their dates and the proposed schedule for the oral examination. Listed below are the dates and the section of the examination.
June 7- Oral examinations for students in Period 7. (16 students) June 8- Oral examinations for students in Period 4 & 6 (16 students) Listening portion of examination for all students in both classes. Guidelines given for writing sections June 9 - Oral examinations for Period 7 (8 students) and Period 4 (8 students) Listening portion of examination for all students Period 7 June 10 - Oral examination for Period 4 & 6. (8 from each) Composition for all students, June 11 - Oral examination for remaining students in all classes. Composition for all students, June 14 - Scan Tron Exam for periods 4&6 June 15 - Scan Tron Exam for period 7 The key to success on the examination is daily speaking, following guidelines and suggestions as they are given and a systematic review over all material. Semester Examinations - Week of 6/7 (oral, listening, writing); 6/14, 6/15 - ScantronSpeaking Log- Each student should be practicing aloud a minimum of 10 minutes, 5 x per week.Consistent work with the speaking log will reflect in improved speaking, listening and writing skills. Logs are given for a 2 week period of activity. Logs are a value of a double homework grade.
